SELECTED STALLIONS 2008
Classic Juan
This Hanovarian stallion standing at Witcham Farm Stud was initially schooled and trained at
The Hanovarian State Stud in Celle where he was licensed and passed his 300 day performance test
before coming to the UK. Here he has proved an outstanding talent, excelling in both dressage and
eventing. With the famous foundation sire Cor de la Bryere on the sire side of his pedigree, and the
prolific dressage sire Don Juan on his dam side, Classic Juan is a true dual purpose sire. We have
used Classic Juan on Mo-Jo this year. combining two first class jumping and dressage pedigrees.
Elroon
Also from Witcham Farm Stud this striking black Hanovarian stallion is performance tested in Germany
where he scored high marks for temperament, character and rideability. Since being back in the UK he has
been consistently and successfully competing in both Young Horse classes and Dressage. His pedigree is
made for performance, with his sire Escuado I having already sired thirteen Graded Stallions and twenty
three State Premium Mares and eight Elite Auction Horses. Elroon is proving to pass on his outstanding
movement, with his first foals attracting much admiration. Maybelle is currently in foal to Elroon for
May 2009.
Groomsbridge May I
A 15.3HH black Thoroughbred stallion standing at
Groomsbridge Stud, May I started his career with an
impeccable in hand showing record as a youngster, being champion on most outings. Sadly, a horrific
paddock accident cut short his chosen path, but a lengthy rehabilitation ensured he was able to pass
on his impeccable bloodlines, confirmation and temperament. He is by Makbul, an unbeaten two year
old racehorse who has sired many high class winners on the flat and over fences and is by the champion
sire Fairy king. May I’s dam is Enamour a very high class competition mare who showjumped to Grade B
level as well as being a champion show horse both under saddle and in hand. His pedigree makes him an
excellent sire for either show horses or eventers. We are using May I on Posh Spice this year, which
should produce an exciting foal with a high percentage of quality thoroughbred blood.
