Posh Spice
Posh Spice is a part bred Trakehner mare, registered with the Trakehner Breeder's Fraternity.
At 15.2hh and dark bay, Leah, as she is known at home, is a good mover and of a lighter frame suited
to producing eventers.
Leah is by the hugely successful and popular stallion, Fleetwater Opposition. He has an almost unrivalled
competitive record, having evented at Advanced three day level and competed at Grand Prix level in dressage.
In 2004, Fleetwater Opposition was awarded both a British Breeding Lifetime Achievement Award and a Trakehner
Breeders Fraternity Lifetime Achievement Award.
His sire is Muschamp Danube, a successful stallion who has a large number of progeny competing at the highest
levels in eventing, show jumping and dressage. His dam is Opushka, an elite, graded Trakehner who's impeccable
bloodlines can be traced back to the original Russian Stud book. Fleetwater Opposition's progeny are hugely successful
in all disciplines, but especially eventing having competed up to Olympic level with great success.
Leah's dam is the Wetherby's registered thoroughbred mare, Lucky Fingers. Lucky Fingers is by the popular stallion
Hotfoot, who stood at Gazeley stud, previously part of the famous Dalham Hall Stud. With this bloodline producing a
number of group winners, this adds the valuable qualities of speed and stamina to Leah's pedigree - so important on
the cross country phase in today's short format eventing.
Leah's first foal born in 2009 is a stunning black colt by the thoroughbred stallion Groomsbirdge May I. We are so
pleased with this foal, she is back in foal to him for a 2010 foal.
